Our Crew

David Campbell founded GBC Tours along with a fellow history buff he met while working at a hotel in the Alps of Bavaria.  Son of an oil industry executive and a schoolteacher mother, David moved with his family to the Middle East and then to Europe, where they lived for the next 11 years.

After returning to the USA, David spent some time in the Marine Corps, worked as the last teaching assistant to the late Dr. Stephen Ambrose and served as researcher on the HBO series, “Band of Brothers.”  He later went on to follow in the footsteps of his great mentor, serving as a history teacher for over four years.  All the while, David worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry.  From Napa Valley to Germany, David continued to feed his love of cuisine, hospitality, and human interaction and customer satisfaction.
It was during his work in Germany  that his career's future became evident and obvious:  the marriage of historical/cultural appreciation and hospitality led to the creation of GBC Tours.

Eric McVey studied Marketing at University of Mississippi. Visionary Founder of Creole PubCrawl in March 2011.

"During my night time studies of mixology at the Crescent City Gaming & Bartending, and my daytime lobbying for the licenses to operate The Big Easy Bikes, the culture and culinary arts of New Orleans overwhelmed my stagnant aspirations and  shaped what is the current business model today."

Mark McVey studied Classics & Anthropology at University of Mississippi.

"After finishing my studies at Ole Miss & studying abroad in Italy and Belize, I relocated to Telluride, Colorado. After two years in the service industry working as a sales and adventure coordinator, the opportunity to live and work in New Orleans, home of the Saints, was offered. Since I'm from Jackson, MS, I grew up watching the Saints and visiting New Orleans; nevertheless, the excitement only grew through my experiences living here. Now I'm stoked about having the opportunity to teach others what I know about this great city of New Orleans. I only wish that I had had a social guide to show me around New Orleans in the way that our social guides do for our guests at Creole PubCrawl."

Orlando Vega studied Hospitality Management and International Business at Florida International University.  Enthralled with our music, cuisine, and community, he moved to New Orleans in the Spring of 2012.

"Ive been in love with this city since my first jazzfest in 2006.  I finally ran out of excuses to not move here."  After years in the hospitality industry, Orlando is excited to share the secrets of his new home with new faces.
